One crab claw
After rapid freezing Deep Sea Red Crab that we have caught, we use our own unique technique to de-shell the crabs without letting them thaw at all.
This process saves customers’ trouble of de-shelling on their own, and also makes it easy for the crab meat to be used in a wide range of dishes upon thawing. This product brings sumptuousness out of any dishes it is used to prepare.
(To preserve the fresheness at the maximum, we boil the crabs on the ship and have them go through the rapid freezing process).
How to Prepare
Pre-thawing step: Please rinse away the thin layer of ice on the crab meat with lukewarm water before thawing the crabs by one of the following methods.
Natural thawing: Place the crabs with space in-between on a flat surface such as a plate, cover it with a plastic wrap, and leave it out at room temperature for 1-2 hours.
Thawing in refrigerator: Place the crabs with space in-between on a flat surface such as a plate, cover it with a plastic wrap, and leave it in a refrigerator for 3-4 hours.
Thawing under running water: Place the crabs in a plastic bag and run the water over the bag so that the water does not get directly onto the crabs.
Defrosting in a 500W microwave: Place the crabs in a heat-resistant container and heat it up for 100 seconds per 10 pieces (*defrosting time will vary depending on the devices.)
*The white film-like substance that may appear on the surface of the crab meat is coagulated proteins that have formed by the heat.
*The crabmeat is covered in a thin layer of ice in order to prevent it from drying out during the storage.
*Please do not re-freeze the crabs after thawing, otherwise the quality will deteriorate.
*Occasionally a piece of shell may be left on the crab. In this case, please remove the shell before eating.
*Please consume thawed crabs as soon as possible.
