Soup stock, an essential ingredient for our regular dinner table. We have added a touch of special to the regular.
This specialness is in the mild aroma of crab and deeply savory seafood flavor of Kani Monogatari crab soup stock.
A powder soup stock made with a luxurious combination of rare and illusive "Deep Sea Red Crab" baked at high temperature (*1) and carefully selected vegetables from Japan. We have captured the essence of the flavor of crab, a luxury ingredient, simply in soup stock packs.
We have experimented with our recipe time and time again in order to extract the utmost savoriness—the greatest characteristic of "Deep Sea Red Crab"—without adding a single unnecessary ingredient. To be correct, we still continue to pursue the best flavor on a daily basis.

This western-style stock is made by extracting the flavors of Deep Sea Red Crab, roast onions, and aromatic vegetables such as celery. Use it for preparing seafood pasta, gratins, paellas, and more, so that the crab flavor will spread out and deepen all the other flavors even more.

(Defrosting leg & shoulder meat, single claws, crab chunks, half-cut merus on the shell and other products)
For Kani Monogatari’s “shell-free” products, the crab is covered in a thin layer of ice to preserve the quality. These products can be enjoyed after letting thaw naturally, but with one additional step, you can experience even deeper flavors. Simply remove this thin layer of ice first before defrosting. Try the following method.
For the remaining crab, remove any excess air, tightly seal the bag and store it in your freezer before it begins to thaw. After opening the packaging, please enjoy the remaining crab soon. (Please be aware of the best before date.)
Defrosting the crab with the layer of ice still intact may result in some of the flavor being washed away with the melting ice. Removing the layer of ice before defrosting will help prevent the loss of flavor.
... To prevent the loss of flavor caused by freeze-drying or similar methods, the crab is flash frozen. This results in a thin layer of ice forming.
The crab will still be frozen. When defrosting, prepare a tray to put it on.
As the layer of ice has been removed, any liquid you find in the tray will be juice from the crab. This can be used for cooking.
Natural thawing (at room temperature): 1 to 2 hours
Defrosting in the refrigerator: 3 to 4 hours
Defrosting under running water: Place the crab in a plastic bag or similar container and run water from the top of the bag to defrost.
Defrosting in a 500W microwave: Transfer the crab to a microwave-safe container and heat for 100 seconds for every 10 small pieces.
(*Defrosting times will vary somewhat depending on the device.)
